MTN Nigeria Announces Network Maintenance in Three Northern Nigerian States
MTN Nigeria, a leading telecommunications provider in Africa, has scheduled a network maintenance exercise impacting services in parts of Adamawa, Borno, and Kano states this Sunday. The planned work will affect 101 sites across 15 Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the specified states. This maintenance will temporarily interrupt 2G, 3G, and 4G services, as well as 10 enterprise services within the affected regions for a two-hour period.
Details of the Scheduled Maintenance
According to MTN Nigeria spokesperson, Lakinbofa Goodluck, the maintenance aims to permanently repair damaged fibre infrastructure along the AFCOT–Bawo Village route in Adamawa state. This involves shifting traffic to a newly installed fibre infrastructure. The maintenance window is set for Sunday, August 24th, between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. The upgrade is crucial to eliminate damaged fibre sections and bolster overall network reliability. The affected LGAs include Nasarawa in Kano State; Girei, Song, Mubi North, Hong, Gombi, Fufore, Mubi South, Madagali, Michika, Maiha, Chibok and Yola North in Adamawa State; and Askira/UBA and Shani in Borno State.
This proactive maintenance is expected to enhance network stability and service quality for MTN subscribers in these areas.
