Tunisia: School Year Registration Opens for Canteens and Boarding Schools
The Tunisian Ministry of Education announced on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, the opening of registration for boarding and cafeteria services for middle schools and high schools. This initiative is for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, offering support to students across the country. This is particularly relevant in Tunisia, where ensuring access to education is a key factor in driving long-term socioeconomic development and utilizing education tech for efficiency.
Registration Process and Support Systems
Families interested in utilizing these services must register through the online platform parent.education.tn. Both new applicants and those who have previously benefited from the services are required to submit an application. Regional committees will then review and validate the applications before issuing the final receipts. Furthermore, applications for financial aid (bursaries) should be submitted directly to the supervisors general at each educational institution. Importantly, the Ministry clarified that automatic renewal of services and aid is not in place this year. Students from low-income or disadvantaged families will receive assistance coordinated by the Ministry of Social Affairs. A specific support system is also in place for students with disabilities. The presentation of an official disability card is mandatory for these students.
