FIRS Approves Remita, Telepac, and Others for E-Invoicing Onboarding

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially greenlit sixteen technology companies to serve as crucial service providers, facilitating taxpayer onboarding onto its electronic invoicing platform. This move coincides with the e-invoicing initiative’s launch, which commenced on August 1st. The selection of these providers aims to streamline the transition for businesses and individuals, leveraging technology to enhance tax compliance.

Certified Tech Companies for E-Invoicing Support

Announced by Mike Adoga, the Acting Director of Tax Automation at the FIRS, in Lagos, these accredited companies have received the necessary endorsement from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). This certification confirms that they possess the required infrastructure to effectively manage the onboarding process. The FIRS indicated that the list of approved providers will expand as more tech companies meet the stringent certification requirements. The current list includes prominent players like Remita Payment Limited, Pascal Technology Limited, Hoptool Technology Limited, Etranzact International Plc, and Telepac Africa. Each of the sixteen companies has been certified as either a System Integrator or an Access Point Provider, demonstrating their compliance with crucial conditions, including robust security measures, transparency, proven cross-sector performance, and the capacity to deliver reliable services nationwide.

This initiative represents a significant step towards modernizing Nigeria’s tax system, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and transparency. By partnering with qualified tech providers, the FIRS aims to ensure a smooth and effective rollout of its e-invoicing platform, fostering greater compliance and contributing to increased revenue generation for the nation.
