This determination led to the establishment of Climate in Africa, a groundbreaking company dedicated to confronting Nigeria’s and, by extension, Africa’s pressing climate challenges. At its core, Climate in Africa tackles the most fundamental impediment to effective climate resilience: the scarcity of accurate and accessible ground data. Temidayo emphasizes, “I have been involved in climate science since 2011, but my primary interest is space science and technology. One of the major problems of climate studies in Africa has always been the lack of adequate data. This was evident during my studies, and the problem is still there today. Since no one has addressed this over the last decades, I decided to build a practical solution that solves this.” This visionary approach is crucial for a nation like Nigeria, which grapples with diverse climate-related issues, from the devastating recurring floods that inundate Lagos to the encroaching desertification threatening its northern regions.
