Suplyd Secures $2 Million Pre-Series A to Revolutionize Restaurant Procurement in Egypt
Egypt’s thriving tech ecosystem welcomes another significant investment as Suplyd, a digital procurement platform targeting the hospitality industry, closes a $2 million pre-Series A funding round. The investment, spearheaded by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with support from Seedstars and previous investors, highlights the growing interest in digitizing the procurement processes within Africa’s burgeoning food and beverage sector. This funding injection will fuel Suplyd’s expansion and further solidify its position in the Egyptian market.
Powering HORECA Operations: Suplyd’s Growth Trajectory
Founded in 2022 by Gohar Said, Karim Selima, and Ahmed ElMahdy, Suplyd has quickly established itself as a key player in digitizing the procurement supply chain for Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes (HORECA). The platform provides a direct link between restaurants and suppliers, streamlining the purchasing process. Since its initial pre-seed funding of $1.6 million in 2022, Suplyd has experienced remarkable growth, multiplying its reach by twentyfold. Currently, the platform services over 5,000 restaurants, providing essential operational tools and simplifying complex inventory and backend workflows. This success underscores the pressing need for efficient procurement solutions within the rapidly expanding restaurant sector across Egypt and the wider African continent.
The new capital infusion will empower Suplyd to broaden its service offerings beyond simple procurement, develop innovative new features, and deepen its presence throughout Egypt’s dynamic restaurant ecosystem. This strategic expansion positions Suplyd to capitalize on the increasing demand for digital solutions in the HORECA industry and contribute to the overall growth of the Egyptian tech landscape.
