Bolt South Africa Unveils Revamped Ride Categories and Family Profiles
Bolt, a leading ride-hailing platform in South Africa, has introduced significant updates to its service. The company has redesigned its ride categories across the nation and launched Family Profiles, a new feature designed to streamline ride management for families and caregivers.
Streamlined Ride Options and Family-Focused Features
The updated ride categories – Economy, Bolt, Comfort, Business, XL, and Women for Women – aim to provide riders with a clearer and faster selection process. This restructuring also links vehicle quality and driver ratings to specific categories, incentivizing and rewarding drivers who consistently provide excellent service. According to Lerato Motsoeneng, Senior GM at Bolt South Africa, this initiative is focused on “clarity, value, and fairness,” simplifying the rider experience while ensuring that top-rated drivers are appropriately compensated. The newly introduced Family Profiles allow a single account holder to manage and pay for the rides of up to nine other individuals. This feature is particularly beneficial for families and caregivers who need to coordinate transportation for multiple people.
These changes reflect Bolt’s commitment to improving its service in South Africa by focusing on user experience, driver compensation, and innovative features that cater to the specific needs of its customer base. The dual rollout promises to enhance convenience and safety for both riders and drivers across the country.
