FIC Assures Readiness Against Evolving Financial Threats in West Africa
The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) of Ghana, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Ing Kwadwo Twum Boafo, has pledged its readiness to combat financial crimes, including money laundering and terrorist financing, within Ghana and the broader West African region. Proactive Measures Against Financial Crime
Speaking following the Second Extraordinary Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) Ministerial Committee Meeting, which took place in Accra on July 19, 2025, Ing Boafo acknowledged the persistent evolution of financial crime tactics. He emphasized that the FIC, alongside other governmental entities and ECOWAS institutions, is employing proactive measures to stay ahead of these threats. This collaborative approach is crucial in the face of ever-changing criminal strategies.
