Zoho Empowers Young Africans with Expanded Digital Skills Program
Zoho has broadened its Young Creators Program (YCP) throughout East Africa, aiming to equip students and working professionals with practical digital skills. This initiative focuses on low-code application development, providing participants with the tools and knowledge to create their own digital solutions.
Hands-on Training in Low-Code Application Development
The YCP expansion has seen workshops conducted across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Madagascar. These sessions, organized in partnership with local institutions within each country, have trained over 150 individuals. Participants learned how to design and deploy functional business applications using Zoho Creator. This approach allows individuals with little to no coding experience to build powerful digital tools, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the African tech landscape.
Veerakumar Natarajan, Regional Manager for Zoho East Africa, emphasized the program’s commitment to empowering young Africans. He highlighted that the YCP aims to provide participants with the necessary skills and confidence to transform their ideas into tangible digital solutions. The program strives to democratize technology, making it accessible and empowering for individuals across the region.
