Rology Secures Growth Funding to Expand AI-Powered Diagnostic Services in Africa and the Middle East

Egyptian healthtech company Rology has successfully completed a growth funding round. This round saw investments from the Philips Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Sanofi Global Health Unit’s Impact Fund, and MIT Solve Innovation Future. The company, established in 2017 by Amr Abodraiaa, Moaaz Hossam, Mahmoud Eldefrawy, and Bassam Khallaf, offers an AI-driven platform for accelerated diagnostic reporting in teleradiology. This platform operates across 12 sub-specialties and eight imaging modalities, providing results in as quickly as 30 minutes, revolutionizing how medical imaging is interpreted and delivered.

Expanding AI-Driven Radiology Access Across MEA

The newly acquired funding will fuel Rology’s expansion plans, specifically targeting faster diagnostics across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The company also aims to solidify its market position in Saudi Arabia, where it already has a presence. Furthermore, Rology intends to increase its impact in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) by leveraging AI to improve access to radiology services. This commitment highlights Rology’s dedication to improving healthcare outcomes in underserved communities. In 2023, Rology acquired Arkan United, a Saudi Arabian company, further strengthening its footprint in the region. Rology’s FDA 510(k)-cleared teleradiology platform is a key player in the MEA, showing its commitment to providing high-quality solutions.

In conclusion, this growth round represents a significant step for Rology. With backing from prominent investors, the company is well-positioned to accelerate its mission of delivering rapid, accessible, and AI-powered diagnostic solutions. This expansion will benefit patients and healthcare providers in both the Middle East and Africa, potentially transforming the landscape of medical imaging and diagnostic services in the region.
