Greenerwave and DGA Unveil New Sovereign, Low-Power SATCOM Antennas
At the Innovation Defense Forum 2025, Greenerwave, in collaboration with the Direction générale de l’armement (DGA) and the Agence de l’innovation de défense (AID), showcased the latest advancements in the m3SFA program. This initiative, recognized as a flagship project at the forum, aims to develop a new generation of full-duplex, single-aperture Ka-band SATCOM terminals designed to bolster the sovereignty of French military communications. This innovation is particularly relevant in the context of securing communication infrastructure amidst growing global uncertainties.
100% French Technology for Strategic Autonomy
Greenerwave is developing a solution entirely conceived and manufactured in France, characterized by its passive design and minimal reliance on semiconductors. Unlike traditional electronically steered antennas, this technology isn’t dependent on imported MMIC components, providing a crucial advantage for strategic autonomy. This independence from foreign components is a significant step towards ensuring France’s self-reliance in critical defense technologies. The low-power consumption also aligns with modern requirements for efficiency and sustainability in military applications.
With backing from the DGA and AID for several years, the program has already achieved significant technical milestones. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of government support in fostering innovation within the defense sector and highlights the potential for future advancements in secure communication technologies.
