The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) is on the cusp of a significant transformation, aiming to revolutionize the gold trade within the country. According to CEO Sammy Gyamfi, the system is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2026.

The system, which the CEO highlighted on TV3’s “Key Points” news analysis program, will enable the board to meticulously trace every gram of gold produced within Ghana and subsequently purchased by the Gold Board, back to its origin. “We have given timelines that by the first quarter of next year, we will have a track-and-trace system, which has never happened since Ghana became Ghana,” Gyamfi stated, emphasizing the system’s unprecedented nature.
