Air Algérie Expands European Network with New Rotterdam Route
Algeria’s national airline, Air Algérie, has announced a significant addition to its international flight schedule with the introduction of a new route connecting Algiers and Rotterdam, Netherlands. This development marks a key step in the carrier’s strategy to broaden its European presence and enhance connectivity between North Africa and the continent. The new service underscores the airline’s commitment to growth, driven by an upcoming fleet expansion.
New Routes and Strategic Growth
In an announcement made on its official Facebook page on August 31, Air Algérie confirmed that the Algiers-Rotterdam service will operate from October 28, 2025, to March 28, 2026. The airline is promoting the new connection with introductory fares starting from 35,100 DZD for departures from Algiers and €256 for flights originating in Rotterdam. Bookings for this seasonal route are available until September 30. Capturing the spirit of this expansion, the airline shared the news with the message, “New horizons are calling.” This European expansion runs parallel to the company’s growth in Asia. In addition to its existing Algiers-Beijing flights, Air Algérie is set to launch a new service to Guangzhou, China, in October.
The airline’s ability to open these new international lines is directly linked to the modernization of its fleet. In June, Air Algérie’s CEO, Hamza Benhamouda, stated that network expansion depends on the reception of new aircraft ordered from major manufacturers Boeing and Airbus. With the first of these new planes expected to be delivered starting in September, the airline is now positioned to actively pursue its growth objectives. The Rotterdam route is a direct result of this strategic fleet renewal program, which will enable the carrier to serve more destinations and meet growing passenger demand.
