University Orientation: SMS Registration Starts This Sunday!
The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Information and Communication Technologies has announced a convenient SMS service for 2014 high school graduates in Tunisia who are applying for university orientation. This service allows candidates to receive vital information regarding their Global Formulas (FG), their ranking based on these formulas, and their orientation schedules directly on their mobile phones. Considering the prevalent use of mobile technology across Africa, this approach streamlines the university application process significantly, making it accessible and efficient for students.
How to Register for the SMS Service
Prospective university students can register for this SMS service starting this Sunday, July 6th, 2014. To register, candidates need to send a text message to the number 85000. The message should follow a specific format to ensure proper processing. First, type “or”, followed by a space, and then the six-digit baccalaureate number as indicated on their convocation. For example, the message should look like this: “or 199999”. It is crucial that the baccalaureate number contains six digits. This ensures that students receive their personalized information accurately.
The ministry plans to release the orientation results via SMS on Monday, July 7th, 2014, beginning at 12:00 PM. Additionally, the results will also be available online on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014, at www.orientation.tn. This dual approach reflects a commitment to leveraging both mobile and internet technologies, furthering the ease and speed of access to important educational information for Tunisian students.
