New GACL Board Vows to Advance Ghana’s Aviation Ambitions
The newly appointed Board of Directors for the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has officially commenced its duties, signaling a renewed commitment to propel Ghana’s aviation sector forward. The board was formally introduced to GACL staff during a ceremony held at Kotoka International Airport on Monday, July 14, 2025. This introduction followed an interactive session between the board members, Heads of Department, and Union Executives.
GACL’s Recent Achievements Highlighted
During the ceremony, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of GACL, expressed her gratitude to the incoming board and underscored the company’s recent successes. Key achievements include the ongoing project to repurpose Terminal 2 for both international and domestic flights, optimizing its utility. In addition, Opare highlighted the crucial resurfacing of the airport’s 30-year-old runway, a significant infrastructure upgrade. She emphasized that these accomplishments were a result of collaborative efforts and dedication from GACL’s management and staff.
