The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) experienced a significant upswing during the week ending October 6, 2025, showcasing robust growth and investor confidence. The benchmark GSE Composite Index registered a gain of 3.58% during the week, closing at 8,410.56 points. This remarkable increase contributed to an impressive year-to-date return of 72.05%, illustrating the GSE’s impressive trajectory. The GSE Financial Stock Index also demonstrated strength, advancing 3.44% to reach 3,880.46 points, driven by sustained investor interest in banking and telecommunications stocks. Market capitalization saw a rise to GH¢165.6 billion, indicating improved investor sentiment and continued liquidity flowing into the equity market. Despite the gains, the trading activity showed a slight moderation. The total volume of shares traded dipped by 12.1% week-on-week, totaling 6.72 million shares with a value of GH¢27.39 million. MTN Ghana maintained its dominance in market turnover, accounting for 78.6% of the total value traded, equivalent to GH¢21.52 million. NewGold Issuer Limited (GLD) led individual stock gainers, increasing by 2.72% to GH¢476.72.
