Tunisia: New Incentives to Boost the Creation of Community Companies
A recent decree-law, published on October 3, 2025, in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT), introduces significant measures to streamline the establishment and management of community companies in Tunisia. Crucially, all participants must be eligible to vote in local elections. The minimum capital requirement is set at 5,000 Tunisian dinars (TND) for local companies and 10,000 TND for regional companies. Furthermore, these companies are now authorized to receive donations and bequests, in accordance with existing legislation. A national online registry for community companies will also be implemented, providing enhanced accessibility and transparency. This structure aims to create a more favorable and less complex environment for launching community-driven ventures.
