President Mahama Launches 2025 National Cyber Security Awareness Month
Ghana is officially participating in the global initiative to promote online safety with the commencement of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The month-long program aims to educate and empower citizens to navigate the digital world securely and responsibly. Throughout October, various activities will focus on fostering a safer, more informed, and accountable digital environment for everyone.
Addressing Digital Threats in the Age of AI
The 2025 NCSAM is themed “Building a Safe, Informed, and Accountable Digital Space,” a response to the increasing prevalence of cybersecurity threats. This year’s focus emphasizes the crucial relationship between cybersecurity, the spread of misinformation and disinformation, and the protection of human rights, especially in light of the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. The initiative will target a broad audience, including children, businesses, the general public, and government institutions, promoting digital rights, combating false information, and advocating for ethical technology usage. As part of the launch, President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to inaugurate the members of the Joint Cybersecurity Committee (JCC).
Ghana’s commitment to cybersecurity awareness highlights the growing importance of protecting citizens and infrastructure from online threats. By engaging various stakeholders and promoting responsible digital practices, the NCSAM aims to create a more secure and trustworthy online experience for all Ghanaians.
