Ghana has unveiled a new digital tool, the Events Mobile Application Plus (EMAi+), to revolutionize its approach to animal disease surveillance, reporting, and early warning systems. The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, hailed the launch of EMAi+ as a landmark achievement. He emphasized the critical role of robust animal disease surveillance in preventing and managing emerging diseases that pose a threat to public health, food security, and the economic well-being of the nation. Priya Gujadhur, the Country Representative for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), also attended the event. The EMAi+ platform is expected to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of disease reporting, enabling faster response times and more effective control measures.
