Moroccan expertise has shone brightly on the international stage, with teams sweeping the top three positions at the Standoff International Cyberbattle. This prestigious competition, organized by the Russian cybersecurity powerhouse Positive Technologies, showcased the nation’s exceptional capabilities in digital defense. Held in Rabat as a pivotal part of the Regional Cybersecurity Week from September 15 to 19, the event brought together leading specialists to tackle complex cyber challenges.

The Standoff International Cyberbattle tested participants’ prowess in simulating both offensive and defensive operations against sophisticated digital infrastructures. These scenarios were carefully modeled on the critical systems vital to a modern state, pushing competitors to their limits in a high-stakes environment. A diverse group of 38 specialists from across the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia converged to demonstrate their skills. Morocco’s strong representation included five teams, each comprising four highly skilled participants drawn from the General Directorate for Information Systems Security (DGSSI) – the national authority guiding Morocco’s cybersecurity strategy – and several of the country’s leading universities. It was their unparalleled ability to detect, analyze, and neutralize cyber threats in real time that ultimately secured Morocco the coveted first, second, and third places, underscoring their advanced technical proficiency.
