Hubtel Bolsters Leadership with Strategic Appointments to Fuel African Expansion

Ghanaian fintech powerhouse, Hubtel, is strategically positioning itself for significant growth across Africa. The company has announced the addition of seasoned professionals to its Management Advisory Council, signaling its commitment to expanding its digital commerce and payments platform across the continent. This move highlights Hubtel’s ambition to solidify its position as a leader in Africa’s rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

Meet the New Advisors

Hubtel’s Advisory Council welcomes two key individuals: Simon Poole, a finance veteran, and Marjorie Saint-Lot, a digital transformation strategist. Poole’s impressive career spans over three decades in capital markets, including significant roles at Bank of America, Guinness Nigeria, and Celtel International. Notably, he played a crucial role in Celtel’s $3 billion acquisition by Zain. Poole also served as an Operating Partner at Helios Investment Partners, where he contributed to the initial public offerings (IPOs) of prominent companies such as Helios Towers, Vivo Energy, and CAB Payments in London. Furthermore, he brings valuable board experience from fintech leaders Interswitch (Nigeria) and Fawry (Egypt). Hubtel anticipates that Poole’s expertise in governance and capital markets will be instrumental in guiding sustainable growth and potential future listings.

The strategic appointments reflect Hubtel’s proactive approach to navigating the challenges and opportunities within the African fintech sector. By leveraging the experience of these newly appointed advisors, Hubtel aims to strengthen its market position and drive innovation in digital commerce and payments across the continent.
