Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Partners with Botim to Simplify UAE Remittances
The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Botim, a prominent UAE-based communication and fintech platform, to streamline remittance services for Ethiopians residing in the United Arab Emirates. This partnership aims to provide a more accessible, faster, and secure channel for sending money back home, benefiting millions.

CBE President Abe Sano underscored the significance of this collaboration, pointing out that platforms like Botim offer reliable alternatives for remittances. He stated that the agreement is in line with Ethiopia’s current foreign exchange reforms and reinforces the government’s commitment to boosting legitimate money transfer methods. Botim CEO, Dr. Tariq Bin Hendy, added that this agreement establishes a foundation for a collaborative effort that will simplify and secure the process of remitting funds for Ethiopians in the UAE through digital channels.
