Founded in 2020 by chartered accountant Nicholas Riemer, The Invigilator addresses the critical need for academic credibility in the digital age. Its core offering is an AI-powered tool designed to prevent cheating and unethical behaviour during online examinations, offering a cost-effective and secure alternative to traditional proctoring methods. This technology tackles the growing concerns around maintaining academic standards in the face of increasingly sophisticated methods of academic dishonesty. Already adopted by over 20 educational institutions, including prominent South African universities such as the University of South Africa, the University of Johannesburg, and the University of Cape Town, The Invigilator is demonstrably impacting the landscape of online assessment.
