SATA and WBBA Forge Strategic Alliance to Boost Digital Growth in SADC Region
A significant step towards accelerating digital transformation in Southern Africa has been taken with the formalization of a partnership between the Southern Africa Telecommunication Association (SATA) and the World Broadband Association (WBBA). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was successfully facilitated by Openserve and signed in a virtual ceremony attended by SATA members. This collaboration promises to inject crucial resources and expertise into the region’s digital economy.
Openserve Facilitates Key Partnership
Openserve played a pivotal role in bringing SATA and WBBA together. Beauty Apleni, Chair of SATA and CEO of Openserve, emphasized the MoU’s potential to drive meaningful progress in expanding the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region’s digital landscape. She highlighted the agreement’s importance in tackling challenges faced by both industry providers and consumers. The partnership will grant SATA members access to WBBA’s collaboration committees, white papers, and connections with other influential industry organizations. Selby Khuzwayo, Chief Regional Officer, was delegated the responsibility of signing the MoU on behalf of SATA.
