NCBA Champions SME Growth as Entrepreneurs Graduate from Elite Strathmore Programme

NCBA has firmly reiterated its steadfast commitment to bolstering Kenya’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) following the successful graduation of a new cohort of 24 SME customers. These entrepreneurs meticulously completed the intensive Enterprise Development Programme offered by Strathmore Business School, marking a significant milestone in their business journeys and NCBA’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kenya. This strategic initiative underscores NCBA’s belief that empowering entrepreneurs is fundamental to national economic prosperity.

Empowering Kenya’s Diverse Entrepreneurial Landscape

The graduating group, designated as the 2025 cohort, comprises a diverse array of business owners representing key sectors crucial to Kenya’s economic fabric. Participants hailed from manufacturing, retail, agribusiness, construction, logistics, and professional services, showcasing the broad applicability and impact of the programme. Each entrepreneur joined with the clear objective of strengthening their leadership acumen and developing strategies for sustainable business scaling. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Dennis Njau, NCBA Group Director of Retail Banking, extended his congratulations to the graduates and underscored the bank’s sustained support for SMEs. He eloquently stated, “We believe that when entrepreneurs grow, the country grows. This programme gives our customers the practical knowledge, confidence, and partnerships they need to take bold steps in their businesses. NCBA remains committed to walking this journey with them through capacity building.” This powerful message highlights NCBA’s integrated approach, where financial services are complemented by essential capacity building, thereby equipping African entrepreneurs with the practical tools and strategic vision needed to thrive in competitive markets and contribute to the vibrant tech and innovation landscape.

Through its ongoing collaboration with Strathmore Business School, NCBA continues to solidify its role as a pivotal enabler of SME success across Kenya. By investing in targeted capacity building and fostering a culture of entrepreneurial excellence, the bank not only empowers individual businesses but also makes a substantial contribution to job creation, economic diversification, and the overall resilience of the Kenyan economy. These graduates are now better equipped to steer their ventures through growth, innovation, and sustainability, positioning them as vital contributors to Kenya’s future development.
