The MEST Africa Challenge, powered by Absa Group and organized by the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST Africa), is a premier Pan-African pitch competition. It offers invaluable opportunities for early-stage startups, including access to crucial funding, mentorship programs, and increased global visibility. This year’s challenge focused sharply on FinTech, highlighting the significant role of startups and embedded financial solutions in driving financial inclusion, promoting smarter payment systems, and spearheading digital transformation throughout African economies. The 2025 edition attracted a diverse pool of applicants from eight key Absa markets: Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Seychelles, and Mauritius.
