According to a statement from Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, initial investigations suggest that a group calling itself PCP@Kenya is responsible for the attack. The State Department for Internal Security confirmed the temporary unavailability of several websites, characterizing the situation as a “cybersecurity incident” linked to this group. Authorities have mobilized a multi-agency incident response team to address the situation. This team comprises experts from various governmental bodies, including the National KE-CIRT/CC, the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4), and other security units. The aim is to swiftly mitigate the damage, restore affected websites, and prevent further intrusions.
