Mauritius Debuts AI-Powered Education Platform, mytGPT

Mauritius is taking a significant step towards modernizing its education system with the launch of mytGPT for Education, an artificial intelligence platform designed to enhance learning for students, teachers, and parents. This initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Mauritius Telecom, follows a successful pilot program conducted between August and October 2025.

Personalised Learning with mytGPT

The mytGPT platform acts as a readily available educational assistant, providing students with customized learning materials that cater to their individual skill levels. Teachers benefit from real-time monitoring of their students’ progress, enabling them to tailor their teaching methods accordingly. This personalized approach aims to create more inclusive access to education. The project was initially tested in a controlled environment at Maréchal College in Rodrigues, starting in June, with a small group of students exploring its feasibility and refining its design. The pilot involved approximately 70 Grade 12 students studying subjects like mathematics, accounting, and physics.

By embracing AI-driven tools like mytGPT, Mauritius is demonstrating its commitment to leveraging technology to improve educational outcomes and equip its students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. This initiative signals a potentially transformative shift towards more personalized and accessible education across the island nation.
