BNB Chain’s Paid Messaging Platform ReachMe Closes Down
The BNB Chain has officially announced the permanent closure of ReachMe, its paid messaging platform. The service, which allowed users to send messages to notable figures within the cryptocurrency space, including Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), is no longer operational. According to an announcement on the ReachMe website, all services have been discontinued, and users can no longer send messages or conduct transactions on the platform. The announcement also assured users that their data has been handled in accordance with the platform’s privacy policy.
# Why ReachMe Shut Down
Launched as an experiment within the BNB Chain ecosystem, ReachMe operated on a paid model, initially requiring users to pay 1 BNB (later reduced to 0.8 BNB) to send a message to prominent individuals. While the official announcement doesn’t explicitly state the reasons for the closure, contributing factors likely included a lack of sufficient adoption by users. There were also possible concerns regarding the fairness and accessibility of the pricing model, which may have limited the platform’s appeal. Scalability issues might have further impacted the long-term viability of the project.
The shutdown marks the end of this particular experiment within the BNB Chain ecosystem. While the platform is now defunct, the BNB Chain continues to explore other avenues for innovation and community engagement within the blockchain space.
