Air Algérie Cargo Simplifies Export Payments in Africa

Air Algérie Cargo Overhauls Payment Methods for Export Operations

Air Algérie Cargo, a crucial facilitator for Algerian international trade, has announced significant revisions to the payment procedures for its export operations. These new modalities, which aim to streamline financial transactions and bolster operational security, are set to be fully implemented from October 1, 2025. The changes will directly impact all businesses and individuals utilizing Air Algérie’s freight services for outbound shipments, requiring them to adapt their current payment practices to align with the updated guidelines. This move reflects a strategic effort to enhance efficiency and reliability across its cargo logistics network.

New Acceptable Payment Instruments and Strict Enforcement

Details regarding these impending changes were formally communicated through a service note issued by the Air Algérie subsidiary on September 21st. According to this official directive, a clear and decisive shift has been made concerning the types of payment instruments that will be accepted for all export transactions. As of October 1, 2025, Air Algérie Cargo will exclusively process payments made in cash, via certified bank checks, or through the CIB card. The emphasis on the CIB card is particularly noteworthy, resonating with broader trends in digital payment adoption and financial modernization across the African continent, providing a secure and traceable electronic option for businesses. Conversely, standard, non-certified checks will no longer be considered a valid form of payment for any export operations. Air Algérie Cargo explicitly stated that these provisions will come into force on the stipulated date and will be applied “without exception,” underscoring the imperative for strict adherence by all clients. The company conveyed its appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of its customers in embracing these new measures, which are designed to foster greater financial transparency and operational integrity within Algeria’s vital export sector.

These forthcoming modifications by Air Algérie Cargo represent a significant push towards modernizing and securing payment processes within Algeria’s export logistics framework. Algerian businesses engaged in international trade are strongly advised to thoroughly review and familiarize themselves with these revised guidelines well in advance of the October 1, 2025, implementation date. Ensuring compliance with the newly accepted payment methods—cash, certified bank checks, or the CIB card—will be paramount to guarantee smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted export operations with Air Algérie Cargo.
