Bolt & Government Partner to Empower Drivers Through NLTA Compliance Workshop
In a significant move to solidify the e-hailing industry in South Africa, Bolt South Africa recently collaborated with the National Department of Transport (NDoT) and the Gauteng Provincial Regulatory Entity (PRE) to conduct a National Land Transport Amendment Act (NLTA) Driver Workshop. This initiative underscores a commitment to fostering a compliant and thriving e-hailing ecosystem.
Equipping Drivers for Success Under New Regulations
The workshop served as a crucial platform, uniting government officials, regulatory bodies, and e-hailing drivers. The primary objective was to demystify the complexities of the amended legislation and empower drivers with the necessary understanding and resources to adhere to the new NLTA regulations. This legislation is a landmark achievement, formally acknowledging e-hailing as a vital component of South Africa’s transport infrastructure. According to Ms. Fikile Nzuza, Senior Public Policy Manager at Bolt South Africa, “As the country’s leading mobility platform, Bolt takes compliance seriously, not just for the company, but across our entire driver community. This workshop is about partnership and working with the government to ensure compliance.”
This collaborative effort between Bolt and government entities reflects a shared vision for a well-regulated and sustainable e-hailing sector in South Africa. By equipping drivers with the knowledge to navigate the NLTA, this workshop contributes to a more professional, safe, and reliable service for both drivers and riders, ultimately strengthening the future of e-hailing in the country.
