NITDA Unveils Tech Leaders to Drive Nigeria’s Digital Innovation Agenda

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), through its Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI), has taken a significant step forward in operationalizing the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA). The agency announced the election of four representatives from the Startup Consultative Forum (SCF) who will serve on the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NCDIE) for the next two years. This critical move underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering its burgeoning tech sector and leveraging digital innovation for economic growth.

Meet the Newly Elected Tech Leaders

The NCDIE is the primary body responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA). The NSA, enacted in 2022, aims to create a supportive ecosystem for tech startups in Nigeria. The chosen representatives, elected by the SCF, bring a wealth of experience to the council. They include Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Founding Partner at Future Africa; Charles Uchenna Emembolu, Founder of TechQuest STEM Academy; and Limit to save tokens. These leaders are expected to contribute to the development of policies and strategies that will help address challenges in funding, regulations, infrastructure, and talent acquisition within the Nigerian tech landscape. This inclusion signifies a collaborative approach, integrating industry expertise with government policy to drive sustainable growth in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
