AltSchool Africa Launches Nano-Diploma for Flexible Learning
African edtech platform AltSchool Africa is empowering learners with greater control over their educational journey with the introduction of a new Nano-Diploma program. This innovative offering addresses student feedback regarding the need for more flexible learning options.
# Addressing the Need for Flexibility
The launch of the Nano-Diploma comes after students voiced concerns that AltSchool’s initial 12-month diploma programs, requiring approximately 20 hours of weekly commitment, were challenging to manage, particularly for working professionals. AltSchool Africa’s co-founder and CEO, Adewale Yusuf, unveiled the Nano-Diploma on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, at their Lagos, Nigeria office. Yusuf emphasized that the Nano-Diploma allows students to learn at a pace that suits their individual circumstances without compromising the high-quality education AltSchool is known for. This decision was spurred by direct feedback, including an X post from a student highlighting the platform’s lack of flexibility compared to traditional universities, making it difficult for those with full-time employment to participate effectively.
AltSchool Africa’s Nano-Diploma marks a significant step towards providing accessible and adaptable tech education within the African context, directly responding to the needs of its learners and solidifying its commitment to flexible, quality education.
