PesaLink and Cellulant Join Forces to Revolutionize Instant Bank Payments in Kenya
A new partnership between PesaLink and Cellulant promises to significantly enhance customer-to-business (C2B) payments for online services across Kenya. The collaboration aims to streamline transactions and address common pain points experienced by both merchants and consumers in the digital economy.
Integrating Tingg for Seamless Payments
The core of this partnership lies in the integration of Cellulant’s comprehensive payment platform, Tingg, with the PesaLink infrastructure. Tingg boasts a wide network, connecting over 80 financial institutions, encompassing 39 commercial banks, SACCOs, and burgeoning fintech companies. This integration effectively links millions of bank accounts directly to a diverse range of merchants, facilitating smoother and more efficient payment processes. According to PesaLink’s Chief Growth Officer, Plounne Oyunge, this partnership directly tackles challenges like payment reconciliation issues for merchants, while simultaneously providing customers with a frictionless payment experience. The ultimate goal is to stimulate growth within Kenya’s digital economy by demonstrating the transformative power of seamless and accessible payments.
By connecting banks, fintechs, and merchants through Tingg, PesaLink and Cellulant are tackling issues such as transaction delays, reconciliation inaccuracies, and the limited availability of diverse payment options. This interoperability aims to create a more robust and user-friendly payment ecosystem for all stakeholders in the Kenyan market.
