Crucially, the agreement also marks the end of MTN’s existing spectrum lease agreement with Natcom Development and Investment Limited (NTEL), which is scheduled to expire on November 29, 2025. The expiring NTEL deal covered 5 MHz in the 900 MHz and 10 MHz in the 1800 MHz bands across 17 Nigerian states. Furthermore, the new arrangement with T2 Mobile is set to reinforce the existing national roaming agreement between the two companies. This roaming partnership allows T2 Mobile subscribers to access MTN’s infrastructure, particularly in areas with weaker T2 Mobile coverage, thereby ensuring more reliable connectivity across the country.
