Naftal Revolutionizes Fueling with Self-Service Payment in Algeria
Naftal, the Algerian National Company for the Commercialization and Distribution of Fuels and Petroleum Products, has introduced a new self-service payment system at its service stations, streamlining the refueling process for customers. This innovative service allows drivers to fill their tanks and pay via their interbank cards without needing assistance from a station attendant. This represents a significant step towards modernization in the Algerian fuel sector.
Automated Fueling: How it Works
The pilot station for this new technology is located in Tamesguida, within the Blida province. The implementation will eventually roll out to other stations across Algeria. The system enables card payments for fuel through CIB (interbank) and Edahabia (postal) cards, which were already accepted at Naftal stations. The key advancement lies in the full automation of the payment procedure. The process is designed to be simple and user-friendly. Drivers pull up to a designated electronic payment dispenser, select the desired fuel type and quantity (in monetary value), insert their CIB card, enter their PIN, and confirm the transaction. Once approved, the customer can then refuel their vehicle without any further assistance. This move by Naftal signifies their commitment to customer convenience and their embrace of modern technology. This development is particularly relevant in the Algerian context, reflecting a broader push toward digital integration in various sectors.
