Orange Tunisie Celebrates 15 Years of Social Entrepreneurship with POESAM Awards
Orange Tunisie recently honored the winners of the 15th edition of the Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneur Social en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient (POESAM) at a ceremony held in Tunis on September 8th. The event showcased the vibrant landscape of innovative, technology-driven projects aimed at improving lives across Tunisia. This year’s competition highlighted the crucial role of telecommunications in fostering development within the country, particularly in sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, transportation, and environmental sustainability.
Celebrating Innovation and Empowering Women in Tech
The 2024 POESAM competition saw a remarkable surge in participation, with a total of 136 innovative projects submitted. This year’s edition marked a significant milestone with the introduction of the Prix Féminin National (National Women’s Prize), a groundbreaking initiative specifically designed to recognize and support projects led by women. This prize, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tunisia, underscores Orange Tunisie’s commitment to fostering female entrepreneurship and promoting inclusive innovation within the technology sector.
This focus supports the growing African tech ecosystem.
The event saw the award of four projects.
