The critical directive was delivered on Thursday during President Tebboune’s comprehensive tour of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), hosted at the Palais des expositions des Pins Maritimes in Algiers. During his visit, the President specifically tasked Hamza Benhamouda, the CEO of Air Algérie, with prioritizing the new Algiers-N’Djamena flight within the national carrier’s operational plans. Beyond air travel, the Algerian head of state also advocated for the designation of a specialized port for cement export, a measure designed to streamline commercial exchanges and boost trade volumes. Furthermore, as he explored the pavilion dedicated to cutting-edge startups and the production of medical reagents, President Tebboune lauded the “notable progress” achieved by these innovative enterprises. He specifically highlighted their impressive capability to meet the demands of the local market, signalling a significant step towards self-sufficiency and technological advancement within the African continent.
