Leslie Nielsen’s Extensive Background in Fortifying Digital Defenses

Leslie Nielsen brings over 25 years of extensive cybersecurity experience to Mimecast, establishing himself as a highly respected industry veteran. Most recently, he served as SVP and CISO at Klaviyo, a high-growth marketing automation platform, where he was central to the company’s expansion to $1.3 billion in revenue. At Klaviyo, Nielsen was pivotal in fortifying security functions, expertly guiding the organization through IPO readiness and ensuring it met the rigorous security demands of public markets. His impressive career also includes SVP and CISO roles at Nuance Communications, SAP Concur, and SuccessFactors, as well as a CTO position at SOS Security. Earlier, he held senior roles at IBM and ACS (acquired by Xerox). Nielsen’s expertise is further recognized by his membership on Google’s CISO Cloud Advisory Board. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas Tech University. This deep experience, particularly in securing high-growth companies for public markets, offers critical insights for scaling tech ventures globally, including those rapidly developing across the African continent.
