This ambition, expressed by Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, signifies a significant stride towards leveraging digital technologies for economic growth across the continent.
Pillars of Ghana’s Digital Transformation
The Vice President’s vision, communicated through her policy advisor, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, at the commencement of the National ICT Week Celebration in Accra, emphasized Ghana’s stable democracy, trustworthy institutions, and robust economy as key strengths in propelling Africa’s digital landscape forward. The ICT Week, spanning three days and themed “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub: Innovation, Policy and Partnerships for the Future,” served as a platform for policymakers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovators to collectively strategize for comprehensive digital transformation. Dr. Ofosu Ampofo also detailed several crucial initiatives propelling Ghana’s digital evolution. These include the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, designed to enhance continuous productivity, and other programs focused on digital advancement.
