South Africa’s esports landscape is about to get a significant boost as Hyprop Investments and MTN join forces to present SHIFT COD, a thrilling Call of Duty tournament as part of the larger 2025 Shift Gaming Experience. This highly anticipated event will showcase the skills of the country’s top competitive squads as they battle for a substantial R60,000 prize pool, promising an unforgettable gaming experience for both players and spectators. Qualifying teams earned their spots through four online qualifiers, each following a single-elimination, best-of-five format. Only the winning team from each qualifier secured a place in the LAN finale, which is slated for the 12th and 13th of September at Canal Walk. At the finale, the four remaining teams will face off in a double-elimination bracket. The prize pool distribution is designed to reward excellence, with the following breakdown: First place receives R30,000, second place R15,000, third place R10,000, and fourth place R5,000.
