Sonelgaz, Algeria’s national electricity and gas company, successfully managed eight peak electricity demand periods and the associated outages during the summer of 2025. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of Sonelgaz’s proactive strategy, which focused on significant investments in infrastructure upgrades and the modernization of intervention tools, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. Speaking at a press conference at the Sonelgaz distribution headquarters in Bab El Kantara, Constantine, the spokesperson emphasized the crucial role of technology. This allowed for a continuous public service, even amidst the intense demand of the summer months. He highlighted the significant contribution of Sonelgaz’s centralized control center (PCC) in improving performance parameters.
