CrossBoundary Energy Secures $40M Boost for African Clean Energy Projects

CrossBoundary Energy (CBE), a leading provider of renewable energy solutions in Africa, has successfully secured a $40 million capital investment. This funding injection will be used to further expand CBE’s portfolio of clean energy projects across the African continent, marking a significant step in the development of sustainable infrastructure. The equity-like investment comes from Impact Fund Denmark (IFDK), a new partner joining CBE’s mission.

Driving Sustainable Development with Renewable Energy

Thomas Hougaard, Managing Director and Co-Head of Green Energy and Infrastructure at IFDK, highlighted the strategic importance of this investment. He stated that supporting CBE aligns with IFDK’s commitment to sustainable development, reducing carbon emissions, and improving the quality of life within African communities. Hougaard also emphasized the significant growth prospects within Africa’s energy sector, where innovative solutions are poised to unlock economic potential and foster inclusive progress. CBE’s projects include the construction of Africa’s first solar/BESS baseload plant, a pioneering initiative made possible by the company’s partnership with Kamoa Copper SA, a leading copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This project highlights the company’s commitment to powering industrial operations with clean energy sources.

The latest investment demonstrates continued confidence in the growth of the African renewable energy sector.
