500 Global Partners with UNDP to Launch Founder Programs in Nairobi

Venture capital firm 500 Global has made its debut in Nairobi, Kenya, with the launch of its first founder programs. This initiative is in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), marking a significant step in supporting the growth of African tech startups. The programs aim to cultivate innovation and provide essential resources for entrepreneurs navigating the evolving global market.

Program Details and Strategic Focus

Nairobi will be the hub for three programs 500 Global will operate this year in partnership with UNDP. Mareme Dieng, a Partner at 500 Global, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to expand their efforts with African entrepreneurs. The partnership with UNDP is crucial in fostering sustained innovation and economic expansion by creating a strong support system for African startups. This initiative builds on 500 Global’s earlier ventures, including the launch of 500 MENA, a fund dedicated to investing in high-growth technology startups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The MENA fund will support startups from both within and outside the region.

The launch of these programs represents a commitment to supporting tech advancement across the continent, especially in a rapidly changing global climate.
