Sidi Hassine: Another Act of Vandalism Targets a Bus in Transit!
The Tunisian Transport Company (Transtu) announced on Saturday, August 16, 2025, that a brand-new bus on the 34A line was targeted in a stone-throwing incident at approximately 4:50 PM in the Sidi Hassine neighborhood. The bus was en route to downtown Tunis when a young man, who had just exited the vehicle, threw the stones, shattering a side window.
Transtu Responds to Vandalism
Transtu immediately initiated an official investigation, using the onboard cameras to document the incident. They have provided the footage to security forces to identify the perpetrators. The company has declared it will defend its rights and pursue legal action against those responsible for the vandalism. This recent event follows another act of aggression just two days prior, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, where a train on line 4 was set ablaze near the Slimane Kahia station. A group of children ignited paper and threw it between the seats, causing damage to a portion of the floor and electrical cables situated beneath the benches. These repeated attacks highlight the urgent need for improved security measures and preventative strategies to protect public transportation infrastructure in Tunis.
