# Fuelling Hyperlocal Logistics and Regional Expansion

This substantial capital infusion will empower Chowdeck to execute its vision of delivering groceries, meals, and essential medicine with unprecedented speed. A core component of this strategy involves leveraging dark stores and sophisticated hyperlocal logistics models. The focus will be on targeting and serving new cities, particularly those currently underserved by existing delivery infrastructure. Chowdeck’s current operational scale is notable, boasting over 1.5 million customers and a vast network of more than 20,000 riders spread across 11 cities, consistently maintaining an average delivery time of just 30 minutes. The Series A round was led by Novastar Ventures, with robust participation from other prominent investors including Y Combinator, AAIC Investment, Rebel Fund, GFR Fund, Kaleo, and HoaQ. Chowdeck emphasizes that these new strategic partners bring invaluable sector expertise, extensive global networks, and crucial operational know-how, all essential assets for navigating the unique logistical complexities and challenges inherent in the African market. This collaboration is expected to accelerate Chowdeck’s growth trajectory, enhancing its capacity to meet the surging demand for efficient on-demand services across the continent.

The successful funding round positions Chowdeck not only for rapid expansion but also to cement its leadership in Africa’s burgeoning quick commerce sector, contributing significantly to the digital transformation of local economies.
