The initiative underscores Visa’s commitment to accelerating Africa’s digital economy and its ambitious plan to invest $1 billion in the region by 2027.

Key Details and Focus Areas

The accelerator is seeking applications from fintech startups that have developed a market-ready product or at least a minimum viable product (MVP). The deadline to apply is August 15th. The program’s focus includes supporting businesses working on innovative solutions, and Visa also revealed the 22 startups chosen for Cohort 4. These companies represent 12 African countries and are concentrating on areas such as cross-border payments, SMB digitization, AI-driven payments, climate insurance, social commerce, neo-banking, and payroll and lending solutions. The accelerator program demonstrates Visa’s commitment to enabling technological advancements in the African financial sector.
