MTN Ghana Announces Impressive GHC 3.6 Billion Profit for First Half of 2025

MTN Ghana, a leading mobile network operator in the country, has announced a remarkable 55.8% increase in after-tax profit, reaching GHC 3.6 billion (approximately $2.3 billion) for the first six months of 2025. This substantial growth was fueled by strong performances across its key service areas, including data, mobile money (MoMo), and traditional voice services. The company’s unaudited financial results highlight its strong position within Ghana’s competitive telecommunications landscape.

Key Growth Drivers

The half-year report revealed a 40% surge in service revenue, reaching GHC 11.3 billion (approximately $7.2 billion). MTN Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Blewett, credited this success to “strong commercial momentum and execution.” He also acknowledged the critical role played by MTN Ghana’s employees in achieving these significant gains, emphasizing their hard work and commitment as being vital to the company’s performance.

This financial success for MTN Ghana points to the growing importance of mobile network operators in African economies, particularly regarding mobile money solutions. With an increasing reliance on digital transactions, MTN Ghana is primed to continue its growth trajectory and influence in the region.
