Algeria’s Baladna Dairy Farm Project Awards Main Contract to German Tech Giant GEA
Baladna Algeria has taken a significant step forward in its ambitious dairy farm project in Adrar, signing fourteen contracts on July 28th in Algiers for the initial phase. Valued at over $500 million, these contracts cover a wide range of crucial elements for the integrated dairy farm, setting the stage for a substantial investment in Algeria’s agricultural sector and highlighting a potential for African technology adoption. These include agricultural technology, irrigation systems, well drilling, metal structures, and project management services. GEA Technologies to Supply Key Dairy Equipment
The most significant contract has been awarded to the German firm GEA Technologies. Valued between €140 and €170 million, the agreement will see GEA supply a comprehensive suite of equipment for both dairy farming and milk processing. GEA announced this news on its website on July 29th, highlighting the project’s scale. According to GEA, this project represents one of its largest single orders to date, signifying a strong commitment to supporting agricultural development in Algeria.
