Chowdeck’s Ghanaian Triumph: Reaching 1,000 Daily Orders in Just Three Months

Chowdeck, a prominent YC-backed on-demand delivery platform originating from Nigeria, has achieved a significant milestone in Ghana by surpassing 1,000 orders in a single day. This impressive feat comes merely three months after launching its operations in Accra, showcasing a remarkable pace of growth compared to the 11 months it took the company to reach the same daily order volume in its home market. This rapid adoption underscores Chowdeck’s effective market entry strategy and strong operational capabilities within the vibrant African tech landscape.

A Vision Beyond Borders: Chowdeck’s Strategic Expansion

CEO Femi Aluko celebrated this achievement, stating on LinkedIn that it represents “more than just a number” and serves as undeniable “proof that the vision propelling Chowdeck transcends borders.” Founded in October 2021, Chowdeck has firmly established itself as a formidable contender in Nigeria’s competitive food delivery sector, a market valued at an estimated $1 billion and projected to expand to $2.4 billion by 2032, according to IMARC. The startup boasts an impressive track record, having served over 1 million users and employing approximately 20,000 riders across 11 cities in Nigeria. Its strategic expansion into Ghana, announced in May 2025, marks the inaugural step in a broader pan-African growth strategy. Chowdeck’s initial Ghanaian operations have successfully established a presence in key Accra neighbourhoods, including Osu, Cantonments, and East Legon, quickly embedding itself into the local delivery ecosystem.

This swift success in Ghana not only validates Chowdeck’s business model but also highlights the immense potential for scalable tech solutions across the African continent. The company’s ability to replicate and even accelerate its growth trajectory beyond its home country positions it as a key player in the evolving African digital economy, demonstrating a clear path for future expansion and impact.
