Algeria Prepares to Digitize Tourist Allowance with New Mobile App
The Bank of Algeria is on the verge of launching a mobile application that will streamline the process for citizens to access their tourist allowance. This initiative marks a significant step towards the digitization of financial services in Algeria, making it easier for citizens to manage their travel expenses.
# Simplifying Access to Foreign Exchange
According to an announcement made by Mohamed Benbahane, the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Algeria, the central bank is finalizing the development of a dedicated app that allows citizens to directly pay the foreign exchange fee (equivalent to 750 euros) from their bank accounts to the Bank of Algeria. The app will also enable users to remotely print payment receipts, eliminating the need for physical visits to the bank. Ultimately, the application is intended to facilitate the acquisition of a dedicated foreign currency card.
This digital transformation aims to simplify and enhance access to foreign exchange allowances for Algerian citizens. By digitizing the entire process, the Bank of Algeria hopes to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and improve efficiency. The impending launch of this application signals Algeria’s commitment to embracing digital solutions to improve financial services.
